Findings and Future Funding Priorities
An Update from Ben Cameron, Program Director
February 23, 2007
In our October 2006 update, we explained that the Arts Program was entering a period of review to assess the impact of our funding initiatives over the last 10 years and to engage in conversations to understand today’s most pressing needs in contemporary dance, theatre, jazz and presenting.
We have now completed that review process, and on February 13, 2007, the DDCF's Board of Trustees endorsed a set of recommendations that will form the “architecture” for our work over the next five years. These recommendations were not designed to be initiative-specific; rather, they were designed to clarify the funding priorities that will guide us moving forward.
All of us in the Arts Program are aware of great curiosity regarding the future of our program. In the spirit of greater transparency, we want to share with you the status of our work as it unfolds.
This update has four sections:
During the remainder of 2007, we will begin to partner with intermediary organizations in each of our core disciplines to refine or develop specific grant initiatives. We will share details about these initiatives as they become available.
