Valerie BaileyProgram Associate for the Arts
Valerie Bailey is the program associate for the arts at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, where she supports the program manager in the day-to-day operation of the Doris Duke Artist Awards Program and serves a key administrative role for the overall Arts Program grants portfolio.
Prior to joining DDCF in 2017, Bailey worked on a team at Creative Capital that administered the grant making, event planning, communications and operations of a similar program of unrestricted support for artists that was fully funded by DDCF. She is also a professional dancer and choreographer whose performance work commemorating her grandmother’s experience with and raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease premiered in West Virginia in 2012 and toured at dance festivals and Alzheimer’s Association events nationwide before its premiere in New York in 2016. Bailey graduated summa cum laude with honors from West Virginia University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology and a minor in dance.
