The Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship (CRF) program, established in 2000, is designed to encourage medical students to pursue careers in clinical research by giving exceptional students the opportunity to take a year to experience clinical research first hand.

To date, the CRF program has supported a total of 497 fellows, with 93 fellows in the current (2007-2008) class.
A minimum of 60 fellowships will be awarded across the 12 participating CRF schools for the 2008-2009 fellowship year, which begins on July 1, 2008.
An additional 12 fellowships will be available to medical students interested in conducting clinical research in developing countries during the 2008-2009 fellowship year: Details
Students matriculated at any U.S. medical school who are in good academic standing and have completed two or more years of medical school prior to the start of the fellowship are eligible to apply to any of the participating schools.
