Karimata Bah

Program Associate for Child Well-being and Associate for the African Health Initiative

Karimata Bah is the program associate for child well-being and associate for the African Health Initiative. In her role on the Child Well-being Program team, she works with foundation colleagues to support organizations that take a comprehensive approach to addressing children’s needs. As the associate for the African Health Initiative, she works closely with the director and global partners to promote strengthening health systems that link implementation research to the delivery of integrated primary healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to joining the foundation, Bah held experience in supporting grant-making, public health research, statistical analysis and program management for a variety of institutions, including the Cleveland Foundation, Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, the Division of Maternal, Child and Family Health at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, and FACE Africa, an international non-profit organization. She received her Master of Public Administration from Baruch College’s Marx School of Public Administration and International Affairs, and her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Temple University. She is committed to equitable investment in human capital and promoting children’s healthy development through interdisciplinary partnerships, innovative methodologies, and translating scientific knowledge into impactful practices and interventions.
