In 2022, DDCF announced the nine fellows receiving a total of $1.98 million in grants for the Doris Duke Physician Scientist Fellowship, which funds the research of clinical investigators at the subspecialty training stage of their careers and aims to promote the transition of emerging physician scientists into faculty-level positions. The physician scientists receive $220,000 each over two years.
