DDCF is committed to supporting the creation and distribution of jazz and currently provides funding in this area through programs administered by Chamber Music America, Creative Capital Foundation, MAP Fund, National Performance Network and South Arts. Offers grants to jazz artists through three DDCF-supported programs:
- New Jazz Works, which supports professional jazz ensembles in the creation, performance and cultivation of original work over a three-year project period;
- Performance Plus which supports U.S. based female-led jazz ensembles to engage an experienced jazz artist-educator for six evaluative listening sessions with the goal of enhancing the ensemble’s performance. The listening sessions culminate in a recording session resulting in a high-quality demo for use by the grantee ensemble; and
- Presenter Consortium for Jazz, which supports presenters and festivals by connecting them with professional jazz ensembles to perform live at each presenter’s venue.
Supports innovative and adventurous individual artists through project funding, counsel and professional development services.
Supports individual artists and organizations to create new live performance works critical to imagining a more equitable and vibrant society.
NPN’s The Creation & Development Fund supports the creation, development and mobility of new artistic work that advances racial and cultural justice and results in live experiential exchange between artists and community.
South Arts' Jazz Road program focuses on artist centric touring and residency by promoting deeper engagement between jazz musicians, presenters, and communities in multi-town tours by emerging and established jazz artists.
