To work with the Land Trust for the Little Tennessee, Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment, Western Carolina University and The Nature Conservancy's Tennessee Chapter to create a science-based conservation plan, to conduct forestry extension to private landowners, to protect at least 15,000 acres in the Little Tennessee River Basin and the northern Cumberland Plateau, and to raise at least $10 million in matching public and private funds for conservation.
